Dr. Cat specializes in Labiaplasty. She understands that the appearance of the labia can be a delicate subject for her patients, and she will help you feel comfortable and relaxed through the entire process. The procedure can be used for labia reduction and reshaping, improving both appearance and physical comfort.
Women come to Dr. Cat seeking labiaplasty for a number of reasons. The most common reasons for seeking this procedure include asymmetry, excess labia that shows in tight clothing and leggings, or discomfort with exercise or wearing jeans and other tight clothing.
Dr. Cat will discuss your concerns and goals for this operation, develop a customized detailed surgical plan, as well as answer all your questions during your initial consultation.
Labiaplasty is performed by shaping the labia minora. The edges are marked to ensure symmetry, and incisions are placed on the inside surface of the skin. Excess skin is removed and the remaining edge is oversewn with absorbable sutures.
Dr. Cat has extensive experience performing this delicate procedure. In fact, she recently wrote a chapter on Female Vaginal Cosmetic Surgery in the International Textbook of Aesthetic Surgery. Patients routinely tell us how much more comfortable they are, both physically and emotionally, after having this procedure done.
Dr. Cat’s patients are usually pleasantly surprised at little discomfort they have with the procedure. There is some soreness the first few days but most of Dr. Cat’s patients are off prescription pain medication by the 3rd or 4th day. Because tiny dissolvable sutures are placed during the surgery, for the first 4 weeks, you will have to be very gentle to the tissues. During this time, you will need to apply antibiotic ointment to the labia. Sexual intercourse should also be avoided during this time period.
