It is unlikely that a shoulder injury would cause gynocomastia. In gynocomastia, there is actual growth of breast tissue. The surgery involves removing almost all of the breast tissue so recurrence is unlikely. If someone gains a lot of weight after surgery, the overall fat increase everywhere may look like a recurrence. Therefore I recommend that patients make sure their weight is stable before they have surgery. I also tell them that if they gain weight, they will get fat everywhere – including their chest. I will have my office manager email you prices.

Could gyno also be caused because of injury of 1 shoulder which decreases strength and/or difficulty contracting that chest, so less contractions -> accumulating in fat tissue -> gyno?
Are you also recommending certain protocols to prevent from happening again after the surgery?
